When you look for reliable medical information in Mexico, the problem is almost never a lack of data — it is a lack of traceability. The same topic is repeated across dozens of pages with no author, no date, and no link to the original source. That is why we have compiled and organized in a single directory the official health sources in Mexico that we use as primary references, each with its link, the scope of what it publishes, and the date on which we consulted it.

This directory is an informational and reference piece. It contains no diagnoses, treatments, or personalized recommendations and does not replace the guidance of a healthcare professional. Its function is documentary: to indicate where a fact is published, who backs it, and when we verified it.

How we read and organize this directory

We work with a fixed editorial standard. Every source included meets three conditions: (1) it is a governmental, academic, or international-organization entity with a public mandate; (2) it publishes citable documents with dates; and (3) it maintains its own official channel from which the content can be confirmed.

In each entry we record the thematic scope rather than a promotional description, because scope is what allows you to decide whether the source answers your query. The consultation date shown below corresponds to September 24, 2026. If a fact is modified after that date, the version published on the official site always prevails.

How to verify a health fact before citing it

The directory only works if used methodically. Our procedure, which we apply to every statement we publish, follows four steps:

Locate the primary source. We identify the original document — standard, bulletin, guide, or article — rather than a news note that summarizes it.
Record the date. We note the publication date and the date we consulted the content separately; they are distinct pieces of information and both matter.
Confirm the scope. We verify whether the fact applies to the general population, to a specific group, or to a regional context, so as not to overgeneralize.
Check whether it has been updated. When a more recent version exists, the earlier one is no longer cited even if it remains visible on the site.

What remains to be confirmed

We maintain two explicit limits. First, the root links in this directory point to the institution’s homepage, not to specific documents: any concrete document must be located within the official site and cited with its own publication date. Second, in this review we have not validated all state-level health microsites, which may publish complementary information by federative entity; that work remains pending for a future update of the directory.

This directory is part of the verifiable health cluster we are building: it links to our primary-source consultation guides and to the editorial traceability sheets, and it serves as a starting point for checking any fact before repeating it. When we add new sources or correct an entry, we will update the consultation date and note the change.
